The pierced and the yarn ‘drawings’ have echoes with the burnt and seared sheepskin parchment. They relate to works such as Nothing is Something and A Space Between where the cut holes are gilded and bound together – tied on monofilament and shown as a frothy mass – referencing memory and making as the original gilded and cut holes were from other works. The works are about vulnerability, transience, beauty and a celebration of materials and their ability to, when worked, speak of the human condition.
