White Study IV

These delicate works where pin pricks and monofilament have made subtle patterns on the paper recall the works of the German American weaver Anni Albers, whose pierced paper works offer an insight into the patterns and textures of her weaving. The making method doesn’t allow for mistakes or corrections, but the result is gentle and ghost-like as patterns dance before our eyes. The works are part of an ongoing conversation about site; the site of fabrication in the studio, the site of a material’s parameters, sites we inhabit and those that we might imagine.
